Classical Music BPM’s

Grave (20-40 BPM): This tempo is extremely slow and solemn. It is usually employed to create a sense of seriousness and mournfulness.

Largo (40-60 BPM): Largo means “broadly.” It’s usually played slow and stately, providing grandeur and vastness.

Lento (45-60 BPM): Lento though a little faster than largo maintains very slow pace that is often used for creating calmness and thoughtfulness in music.

Adagio (66-76 BPM): Adagio means “at ease.” It’s typically played slow and relaxed, often serving to convey lyricality as well as expressiveness in music.

Andante (76-108 BPM): Andante means “walking pace.” This tempo is moderately slow thereby enabling easy steady flowing rhythm not too fast or too slow.

Moderato (108-120 BPM): Moderato is a moderate tempo with balanced regularity which can be applied in diverse musical contexts.

Allegretto (112-120 BPM): Allegretto is slightly faster than moderato being moderately quick and light-hearted as well.

Allegro (120-168 BPM): Allegro means “fast, quickly, and bright.” This tempo is lively and brisk often indicating excitement and energy

Vivace (168-176 BPM): Vivace means “lively and fast.” This tempo is quicker than allegro.

Presto (168-200 BPM) Very fast
